TEACHER'S DAY
TEACHER'S DAY
We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th
September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers
on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – second
President of India. The great academic philosopher, and one of the most well
known diplomats, scholar, president of India and above all a teacher. As a
tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers' day.
The students of class
XI and XII arranged the whole programme. They beautifully decorated the Hall of
the school with flowers and garlands. To make the day special the senior
students took the classes upto class X and gave rest to our teachers. They also
organised a cultural function. The function started at 12.30 p.m. and continued
for 2 hours. The function started with a dance performance by the students of
class VI. Then the musical band of our school performed on the stage. The
students of class X showed their talents through mimicry of the teachers. The
teachers felt that this programme was a treat to watch.
The greatest attraction of the day was Rathin Chakraborty, the Rashtrapati Award winning teacher of the school. The teachers and the students in their nice speeches made the audience spellbound. The teachers were much delighted by the evenful function. The retired teachers of the school were then awarded by the present Headmaster Arup Das.
